>> Establishment and Subsequent Spring Survival of Low Maintenance Turfgrasses in Transition Zone Climates
It has been estimated that up to 50% of total urban water consumed in the southwestern United States during the summer months is for irrigation of landscapes (Kjelgren et. al, 2000). With turfgrass being a major component of residential landscapes, it is becoming increasingly important to select low water use and/or drought tolerant species to reduce potable water consumption for irrigation.
